Delaney Commercials is hosting a CNG Ride and Drive event on Saturday the 7th March 2020 at it’s premises in Naas,Co.kildare.  The star of the show will be the new Scania CNG R410 6×2*4NB rear steer tractor unit.

This truck is powered by Scania’s 410 hp six-cylinder gas engine. The groundbreaking Euro-6 gas engine with full potential for heavy,long-distance transport and construction-site applications is equivalent in all aspects to a diesel engine of the similar size.

This engine provides 410hp and gives 2000Nm from 1100 and through to 1400 r/min – comparable to  diesel engines of  a similar size. The 13 litre gas engine always runs in combination with Scania’s Opticruise, Scania’s automated gearboxes. This means that the driver has first-class gear changing and driving comfort. A more robust spark plug and modified software have resulted in extended intervals between spark plug changes.  The compressed natural gas solution  can provide a range of up to 500km while with the liquefied natural gas option the range can be up to 1100km. (as a significantly larger amount of fuel is carried). Of course range also depends on the type of driving and usage.

Gas networks Ireland is currently developing it’s support infrastructure for gas trucks…. “Working with Applegreen to deliver two more publicly accessible CNG refueling stations is another milestone in our efforts to develop a clean fuel option for Ireland’s commercial fleet transport sector. With the first public CNG station in Dublin Port operational, the second public CNG station constructed and another seven public CNG stations currently being developed, Ireland’s HGV and bus operators can now choose a cleaner fuel alternative.”

So all-in-all, the gas solution can save on down-time,money and save the environment. Please contact us for more details.
